Josh Payne is a Missouri farmer who has transitioned a conventional corn/soy farm into a regenerative agroforestry farm and ranch. His stacked enterprise model, based around adaptive sheep grazing in and amongst chestnut trees, seeks to revitalize both landscapes and communities and provide a model for other landholders to transition conventional ground. He is an active participant with the UM Center for Regenerative Agriculture and the MU Center for Agroforestry, seeking to combine his experience as a farmer, rancher, and orchardist to promote biodiversity in regenerative farming.
